Bailey; J.P., presiding over a full attendance. The only business was the consideration of a letter from the Government engineer, asking how the ; contributions- towards . the erection of the bridge had been apportioned or allocated among the' local bodies ; and the , various parties interested. In order to arrive at an amicable settlement, it was decided that representatives .' of the , Waikato County Council, the Raglan County Council, the Huntly Road Board, and the directors of the Taupiri-Coal Mines be asked to meet the Town Board i in conference on the evening of the 28th -inst., either at Huntly or-at Ngaruawahiai, such meeting to-be asked to arrive at some definite . conclusion, so that the work of erection may be proceeded with.J at once, and -at the same time obviate - any necessity for Governmenl interference.:' V y ; v.,•"' For the past fortnight work both at Ralph's'' and the Extended mines has been intermittent, both having y been - off . through i lack of orders ". for several i days; The. present heat wave militates against a large output. ,;*/,; \-y y, _ > ~' " # '' Buildings still continue to increase ih number.
