A special meeting of the Ohakune Chamber of .Commerce was held V last night, when there was a large attendance,, Mr. A. H. Wilkie (president) being in the chair. The meeting was called principally to deal with the further improvement of the road to the top. of Mount Ruapehu, which Tuns direct from Ohakune, and a sum sufficient to form an up-to-date and wide track was guaranteed in the room, the work to be commenced immediately, and finished in about two weeks' time. When this is completed, tourists will be able to reach the summit and return in very quick time.
