SUPPOSED SUICIDE.

.The body of a" man named Charles Gilbert, a storekeeper, of Union-street, who had been missing from his home since Thursday, the 17th inst., wasi found yesterday morning by two railway officials, ,in a drain 2£ miles from Kaukapakapa. /There were several stabs.on the left arm, while a bloodstained pocket-knife was found in deceased's pocket. It supposed that the wound was self, inflicted. A message was found on a paper inside the deceased's hat, which ran as follows :— "Too done up to go any further. Lost coat and all contents, C. Gilbert, Unionstreet, Auckland." These circumstances point to suicide.
