CHARGES OF ARSON.

At the Police Court this morning Joseph Davies and Martin Haines were charged •with having caused the fire which destroyed the- Rutland Hotel. They were remanded for eight days, bail being refused. :. The police stated that' exhaustive inquiries had been made throughout the Dominion, but they did nat know if they could be ready with their case even in eight days.
