FILIAL AFFECTION AND DUTY.

The question of filial duty (says the New Zealand Times) was again considered by the Wellington Benevolent Trustees on Tuesday. The case was that of an extremely aged woman, whose adult children desired to get her into the Ohiro Homo. There were seven of these children, most of whom themselves had numerous families; one woman 10, another seven, and so on. Numbers of the grandchildren are adults who are earning wages. One of the old woman's daughters had been keeping her, and it was naturally her desire that the others and their children (who are liable under the Act) should share the burden. It was shown by the trustees that one shilling a week contribution from each of those liable by law for her support would keep her comfortably. . Information as to the earnings of children and grandchildren will be gathered before any further action is taken. . ■ ■',
