SALES OF WORK.

CHILDREN'S HOME, REMUERA. A SALE of work in aid of the Children's Home, Remuera, was held in the Wesley Hall, Pitt-street, yesterday afternoon and evening, the opening ceremony being performed by the Mayoress, Mrs. C. D. Grey. The sale will be continued to-day and tomorrow. The following are the stalls and stallholders:—

Plainwork No. 1: Mesdames Howie and Clemens. _. Plainwork No. 2: Mesdames Dixon, Jones, Mclnncs, Smcthurst, and Speed. Fancy work No. 1: Mesdames Pearson and Wilson, Misses Pearson and Cook. Crockery: Miss Carter. Sweets: Misses Edwards and Morton. Flowergirls: Vera Hay, Vera Adams, Gladys Wilson. Refreshment: Miss Carnio, Mesdames Dawson and Simpson. Hidden Treasure: Misses Ellingham, Brown (2), and Hardy.

A sale of gifts took place in tho Grafton Road Methodist Schoolroom yesterday afternoon and evening, and proved'highly successful. The gifts, which were as various as they were numerous, met with a ready sale, and a satisfactory amount was cleared. The stallholders were as follows:—Ladies' Guild stall, Mesdames Edson, J. Lawry, Jeffrey, and Burton; bookstall, Mrs. Dewsbury and Miss Whitburn; pot plants, Mrs and Miss K. Johnstone; Bible-class stall, Misses White, B. Johnstone, L. Schofield; crockery stall, Mrs. Gatland; jams and preserves, Mrs. Davis and Miss Davis; lollio stall, Misses .White, Haresnape, and Millar; jumble stall, Misses White, Cowley, Nyberg, and Monk; refreshment stall, Mrs. J. Gilmour and Misses White. During the evening an attractive musical programme was contributed to by Misses A. Laver, Phillips, E. Burton, and M. Lavcr, and Messrs. Laver, Steele, McElwain, and A. Burton. The sale will bo opened again at three p.m. to-day. In tho evening another musical programme will bo presented. A sale of work on behalf of the Mount Roskill Primitive Methodist Church was opened in the Mount Roskill Public Hall by Mr. D. Goldie vesterday. It will be continued to-day. Tho sale of work is in aid of paying off a section of land' on which it is proposed to build a new church, and it is hoped to raise over £90 in this way.
