PROSPECTING PARTIES.
AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.]
Wellington, Wednesday.
The Minister for Mines was asked by Mr. Poland to-day whether he-will at once introduce tho ■Government organised prospecting parties promised last March, seeing that the ■:actions of . the Auckland Stock Exchange, apparently sanctioned by the Government, in connection with the flotation of mining properties, lias killed all prospecting by ( private individuals in Auckland province. The Minister replied: "The question, of equipping Government prospecting'parties in each island during the coming summer will be considered as soon as the weather conditions in the South become favourable. I am at a .loss to understand the reference to the action of the Auckland Stock Exchange in relaion to prospecting, .as I am "not aware that the Government, have, any power to control or havii' sanctioned any action of the Exchange in connection with this matter." •.■..''■■ ■■■.-;• ■ - § ;. .:■.,.'; '
