The Minister for; Public Works ' was asked /in the House of Representatives today,: by Mr. Baume,- when' he intended to proceed with, the erection , of the Magistrate's Courthouse in /Auckland. The Minister ; stated 'in reply : "A sum of £8000; was provided on last year's appropriations: for the purchase of land and for the erection of ; anew Magistrate's Courthouse at Auckland. , The additional area necessary has been acquired at a cost of £2750, and preliminary sketches for the proposed building have j been prepared, but as the structure will be one of some magnitude, involving an expenditure of £10,000 or £12,000, it will take some time to complete the, plans and specifications." • • ;'■.■*-'
