CORPORATION TENDERS.
' K * THE YEAR'S SUPPLIES. ' At the City Council meeting last evening the Works Committee presented a report on tenders received for various supplies for the ensuing year at schedule rates. In the case of scoria there were tenders from J. J. Craig, Ltd., H. S. Wilson, and W. Lovett, but the committee recommended that no tender be accepted, the f city engineer to purchase quantities as required. J. J. Craig, Ltd., and J. A. Endean tendered for shingle, sand and shells, and the tender of J. J. Craig was recommended for acceptance. J. J. , Craig, Ltd., was the only tenderer for bricks, and this tender was recommended for acceptance. Wilsons Portland Cement Co., N.Z. Portland Cement Co., Briscoe and Co., and J. J. Craig tendered for lime and cement. As Briscoe's tender, which was lowest, was withdrawn, J. J. Craig's tender was recommended. In regard to , team labour the tenderers were C. Short and Co., J. J. Craig, Ltd., and W. Lovett, and that of Short and Co. was recommended. , For coal Messrs J. J. Craig's tender was accepted at schedule rates; the other tenderers were the Taupiri Coal Co. and J. H. M. Carpenter, Ltd. The tenders of J. Burns and Co. for waterworks supplies and for engineers' and pumping station stores were recommended. Tho other tenderers for waterworks supplies were A. and T. Burt, Ltd., Hard ley and Hardley, Ltd., and Briscoe and Co., Ltd., and for engineers' and pumping station stores A. and T. Burt, Ltd., and Briscoe and Co., Ltd.
