There was a large attendance of assistantmasters at the Foresters' Hall, Karangahape •Road, on Saturday evening, when MrS Purdie's scheme for the promotion of teachers was brought up for discussion. Mr. E. C. Purdie, member of the Board of Education, was present by request, and explained his scheme and its working. It was resolved to forward , notice to the Board expressing entire approval of Mr. Purdie's proposals, and to heartily support the :. apportioning : of marks for efficiency, length of service, and academic attainment.as proposed therein. ■ Baxter's Lung.
