1 FARMERS IN" PROTEST. General' indignation is felt amongst' the farming community :at Buckland (writes oar correspondent) in regard to the new daiiy regulations now before [Parliament. A large and representative meeting of dairymen (presided over by Mr. John Porter) was held in the Buckland ; Hall, on Monday evening, when it was decided to strenuously resist several of the clauses of the proposed. Act. An emphatic protest was entered against the .powers. by the Bill in the inspectors.' - .>; : :. '■"> ' The following resolution (copies of which are to be forwarded to the Prime Minister, Minister for Agriculture, arid the member for Franklin) was carried unanimously: —-" That this meeting ,considers that-; the proposed \ regulations, : if allowed to become law/would be most injurious to the dairying industry." At- a meeting of dairymen, held to consider the dairying regulations, the following resolution, was unanimously passed:-—' " This meeting of Hunua ; settlers views wiili aJtrm, : and strongly protests against the proposed new dairy regulations, considering that they will be so. drastic as to force many men out of 'the dairying industry." A copy of the resolution is: to be forwarded to the Minister for. Agriculture.
