The passengers by the steam yacht Argonaut/which collided in the English Channel yesterday with the collier Kingswell, had many thrilling experiences, and but for the proximity of rescuing vessels and a full supply of boats in the yacht, many lives must have been lost. Splendid discipline prevailed among the crew of the Argonaut, and ; the greatest coolness prevailed among the passengers, there being not the slightest sign of panic. The collision occurred between eight'■: and, nine o'clock in the morning, when the passengers, including fifty ladies, were at breakfast. They immediately filed out on to the deck, and were all transferred to the boats in the space of a few minutes. , y : : :: 1 The damage to the Argonaut was so extensive-that within twenty minutes of the impact she had foundered, but , by-this /time the boats were well ; clear.
