Reynolds, general manager to the Pacific Cable Board, who took ill while attending the j Lisbon Telegraph Conference, died j to-day, aged 64 years. i Mr. Reynolds, who was a son of (lie late .Major Reynolds, of the Indian Army, had been general manager of the Pacific Cable Board since 1901. lie was bora on January 15, 1844, and entered the service of the Indian Government in the Telegraph Department, m 1863, retiring in 1899. He was Director-General of Telegraphs in India from 1895 till his retirement from thai, service. Mr. Reynolds received the special thanks of the Commander-in-Chief and of the (Government of India in connection with the military operations in Tirah, and on the North-west Frontier of India in 1897. His services were also acknowledged in the case of the Bengal famine in 1874 : and on several other occasions.
