COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS.
THE BRISBANE CONFERENCE. [BY TELEGRAPH. OWN- CORRESPONDENT.] Dc.vedin", Friday. The delegates fioin New Zealand to the meeting of the United Travellers' Association of Australasia (Messrs. D. MePherson and C. S. Owen) have returned from Brisbane, where the .annual conference has just been held. They report, inter alia., that 'lie position of the United Association of New Zealand was very fu'ly gone into. At prosent only Dunedin is affiliated. The Dunedin delegates are more than ever impressed with the great advantage* ' accruing from" the relationship with the United Association, and reported that- there were signs that Wellington and Auckland would before long reconsider the position and apply for affiliation, thus paving the way for a federation of New Zealand, which would then be represented at the conference this much-to-be-desired consummation as the Stales of the Commonwealth. The conference passed- a hearty motion assuring the Wellington and Auckland Associations of a warm welcome if an application for affiliation were made- and the desire was expressed that before next conference this much-to-be desired consummation would be reached.
