< ST. JOHN AMBULANCE WORK. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] I ' Chuisxchukch, Thursday. The Christchurch council of the St. John Ambulance Association last evening adopted proposals for the maintenance in Christchurch of equipment suitable for use in case of a serious railway or tramway accident. The chairman said that the Victorian railway strophe showed the need for considering what would be the position in Christchurch in case of a serious accident. He suggested the purchase of 20 military stretchers, with a full equipment. of splints, bandage:-!, and instruments, the total cost of which would be about .£B3. It was also agreed that it would be necessary .soon, to increase the ambulance transport facilities. ,
