DUNEDIN WOOL SALES.
[BY . telegraph.—press ASSOCIATION.] Dtjnedin, Friday. The third series of wool sales was held today in the presence of a representative attendance of buyers. Prices for inferior wools were better than expected, but this competition, however, was not extended to the lowest grade of matted wools and lots containing fern and biddi. Pieces, bellies, and locks (best sorts) practically maintained the values ruling at the last sale, while heavy conditioned and seedy lots sold slightly in buyers' favour. Prices ruled as follows: — Medium to good merino, 9d to 10|d; inferior, 7ad to Bfd. Super, half bred, lid to 12£ d • medium to good, 8d to lOd; inferior, s|d to 7id. Good crossbred, 7£d to 9id; medium, 6Jd to 7d; inferior, 4d to s£d.
