THE GOVERNOR.
DELAYED BY BUSH FIRES. : [BY telegraph.— CORRESPONDENT.] KAwnrA, Friday. The Governor was to have arrived here yesterday, but a telegram was received late last night, intimating thai he had proceeded to New Plymouth as the Tutanekai could not get into Kawhia harbour, the smoke being too thick. The people here had gone to a great deal of trouble in decorating the ■wharf and arranging entertainments, and keen disappointment is expressed.
