NATIONAL LEAGUE OF NEW ZEALAND.
Sir, —As many of your readers aro members of the National League of New Zealand, I should like to ask whether tho term "National League" correctly and eufliciently conveys to the public an idea of the aims and objects of the society. These are Bet forth on page 5 of the constitution and rules, and begin thus: "To ensure domestic peace and security from all possible invasion by obtaining tho national adoption of the following safeguards." The safeguards enumerated are solely defensive In , their nature, and I, should think that tins fact would be better indicated if the name of tho league were altered to "National Defence League." As the first annual conference of the league is shortly to be held in Wellington, and branches from'all parts of tho Dominion will be there represented, it may bo as well that this matter of title should receive the consideration of the delegates.
