GERMANY AND FRANCE.

M. CAMBON AT NORDENEY.

By Telegraph.— Ptees Association—Copyright. Berlin, August 21. M. Jules Cambon has been the guest of the German Chancellor (Prince von Billow) at Nordeney for several clays.

In French political circles for some time past there lias, been a sanguine belief that the- year will not pass without Franco and Germany singing an agreement on the subject of Morocco, which will be the first Franco-German entente formed within the memory of the present generation. " This agreement," said the London Daily Mail of July 2, "will, it is believed, be arrived at as the result of the German Emperor's energetic desire to come to an understanding with France, on colonial questions. It has been placed within the bounds of practical possibilities as the result of long conversations between M. Eticnne, ex-Minister of War, and the Kaiser at Kiel. M. Etienno has also conferred with Prince yon Billow. Tho French Ministry of Foreign Affairs promptly denies that M. Etietmc was entrusted "with any official, or even semiofficial, mission. But the influential position of M. lOticnnv, undoubtedly a member c/ future Cabinets, makes It impossible not to take, serious notice of his meeting ivith the Kaiser. On his return he had long conversations with MM. I'iclicni and Clemoneean. From a well-informed quarter it is learned that it will most probably be discovered in the next few weeks tha the Kaiser is prepared to come to an entente with France, on the subject of .Morocco bv supporting France in her demand* on "Sultan for various reforms. Germany wishes to join in various entente* which have recently beer former!, and deMies to avoid isolation.: Hence it is probable some important agreement will be ,-ome. to between France am Germany Hi the autumn."
