PECULIAR COURT CASE. [nv TELEGRAPH.—FBESS ASSOCIATION - .] Dttkedin, Wednesday. At the Supreme Court to-day John McMillan was charged with having, between October 25, 1897, and October 5, 1905, stolen £1151 18s lOd, this sum having been drawn in varying amounts out of the funds of McKechnie and Fleming, in which firm accusal was a partner. The case occupied all day. Mr. Ranlon, for the defence, submitted that accused did not take the money with fraudulent intent, and that he had every " colour of right" to take it. A verdict of not guilty was returned, and accused was discharged.
