CRICK'S EXPULSION.
APPEAL TO THE PRIVY COUNCIL. ; By Telegraph—Pre™ Association.—Copyright, (Received May 21, 9.47 p.m.) . Sydney, May 21. The Full Court has granted the Speaker and the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Legislative Assembly leave to appeal to the Privy Council against the Court's decision in the actions arising out of Crick's expulsion from the Assembly in March.
When the Land Commission's report was before the Assembly in ] March, Mr. Crick took part in the discussion. The Assembly passed a special standing order enabling it to suspend him from the sittings. On the passing of this standing . order, and the consequent resolution, Mr. Crick refused to leave the House, and was removed by the Sergeant-at-Arms under an order from the Speaker. Mr. Crick proceeded against the Sergeant-at-Arms, and the Full Court decided that the fact that a criminal charge was pending against him in.no way affected the course of business in the Chamber, and did not justify the House in disfranchising his constituents. Mr. Justice Pring dissented, holding that the standing order had the force of law, and that the Court had no fright to inquire into its validity.
