At the Supreme Court to-day Sarah Carnegie petitioned ' for a dissolution of her 'marriage • with, Percival Errold Carnegie, who had described himself in the marriage register as 17th Viscount Northesk. There was no appearance of respondent. It was stated that petitioner was housemaid in ■a; hotel when she met respondent; who was a young ' man with the greatest pretensions, and they were married in 1899. The following day. the "titled" ". bridegroom disappeared, and the next thing the bride heard of her husband was that he had been sentenced to two years' imprisonment at Nelson, for obtaining money under false'pretences. There were previous convictions against accused, who was best known to the police as Percy Whittle.

In the Divorce Court this afternoon (Mr. Justice/Button presiding) Charlotte Graham petitioned for a dissolution of her. marriage with Dr. Walter Robert Graham, on the ground of adultery. The parties were married ,at Essendon, Victoria, in July, 1898, and lived together at BrokenHill, New South Wales, and at Palmerston North. ;:.;:■ : His Honor granted ■■ a decree nisi, and made an interim order for the custody of the children of the marriage.
