The weather '-was' fine, and there was a large attendance at the public re- . ception of the Governor, at the Trafalgar Rotunda. Addresses of -welcome from the County and Borough Councils were presented to the Governor, and His Excellency presented the prizes won at a "shooting' match -to members of the Gisborne Rifles* A; public levee was subsequently held. '* ' In the afternoon His Excellency proceeded by train to Te Kanaka, and opened a further] section of railway to Puna, the line ' being now 24 miles from Gisborne. This •, evening the Governor will be entertained t at dinner by the Mayor and councillors.
