Adelaide, May 17. With reference to Sir W. J. Lyne's - remarks as to frozen mutton, Mr.. Ralph, an exporter of' Australian 7 produce, says Sir W. J. Lyne may have been comparing New Zealand mutton just imported with Australian that has been kept for a long time in cold stores. Another aspect was that only, an expert could pretend to compare different classes of mutton, and he was not aware that Sir W. J. Lyne had an extensive knowledge of the subject. If Sir W. J. Lyne's remarks applied to lambs, then the matter was of great importance to South Australia. New Zealand lambs, ias those of other countries, looked much fresher on arrival than when kept for a period in cold stores. ' He concludes: "Our lamb-raisers need not be perturbed by the cablegram. They are quite able to held their own in the London market."
