London, May 10. Prince Fushima, brother of the Mikado, was yesterday presented • with the freedom of the City of London. He was accorded a great popular welcome everywhere. (Received May 12, 4.37 p.m.) London, May 11. Sir Edward- Grey, Secretary for Foreign Affairs, entertained Prftice iushima at a banquet , yesterday. Besides the other members of the Government there were present Lords Lansdowne and Roberts. Admiral Sir John Fisher and Sir Edward Grey emphasised the community of spirit and intentions in the Anglo-Japanese alliance. Should all others having interests in the Far Last adopt, each in its own way, the same policy, then, indeed, stability would be secured, and their being conscious of community of interests general goodwill among all would make peace pleasant and acceptable to everyone.

Princc Fushima in* responding dwelt, upon the special friendship of the two nations, and remarked that the maintenance of cordial relations was happily in the keeping of able and tried hands.
