MAY BE ANNEXED BY

BELGIUM.

By Telegraph.—Press Association.—

London, May 8. M. de Trooz, Premier of Belgium, has announced that he intends to consult the Chamber of Deputies on the question whether Belgium should annex the Congo Free State.

The Congo Free State is at present an independent State under the Sovereignty of the King of the Belgians.
