AN APPROACHING JUBILEE.

The jubilee, of the date of the signing at St.' Stephen's ; Chapel, Taurarua, Parncll, ■ of the constitution of the Church of the Province of New Zealand (commonly call•v'.. Ed the Church of England) is to be celebrated in Auckland on Thursday, June 13 '■ next. The method of observance, as far "' as' can at present be ascertained, will be much as follows, viz. : Celebrations of ; Holy Communion .'at eight a.m. in the vari'f'.' ous churches a- special service of Holy Communion at St. Stephen's, designed principally for those church people who were associated in church work at the lime of the promulgation of the constitu- ' tion (June 13, 1857); a diocesan service of praise and thanksgiving at St. Paul's,, 4 at T- eleven a.m., of which particulars will be *■-' '. available' later; and a social meeting in the evening of church people generally to ? held in some suitable hall, which it is ' anticipated will be largely attended, by ? church workers of the period which is being celebrated. In 'order that these pioneers of the English Chnrp in this land V„ may be fully included among .the number of those who will join in the proceedings, en invitation is extended by the Standing Committee of the diocese -to these "old || identities" to send in their names, with ' particulars, briefly stated, of the nature of their connection with church work in those past days to either Canon Nelson, St. Paul's Vicarage, or Mr. W. J. Speight, to whom has been entrusted the duty of secur|s ing, the attendance of representative church people of Bishop Selwyn's period. The event will be specially observed . on the Sunday follow ing (June 1.6), and aril rangements are being made for bringing - the children into touch with the celebration. -. . .
