At a meeting of the Shipwreck Relief Society yesterday it was \ stated that in reference to circulars sent to the harbour boards asking for assistance, favourable replies had been received from Napier, Gisborne, Bluff, Invercargill, Timaru,' and Greymouth. The secretary of the Auckland Harbour Board, however, wrote' stating that the members did not see their way to comply with the request. It was decided to request municipalities on or near the coast to grant pecuniary aid.. \ , --•.
