MEMORIAL SERVICE IN EDIN--
BURGH.

A memorial service was held at Edinburgh to-day, synchronising with the funeral of Dr. Rainy at Melbourne. Representatives of the Established Church, the Free Churches, and other denominations were present; also Lord Overtoun, Lord Provost of the Municipality, Dr. Rainy's sister and daughter, and Mr. A. R. Rainy, M.P.
(Received December 25, 10.27 a.m.) Melbourne, December 25. The late Dr. Rainy is to be buried locally.
