SCORE BOARD AT THE CRICKET MATCH.
Sir,— I am surprised {bat none of the let. tors published by you on the subject of the English cricket match last week made any reference to the score board. Tiii* »-a* no doubt. intended as a convenience to the public', to enable them t* follow the game. lint it proved otherwise; indeed, a great annoyance, at least to those on the pavilion side of the ground. My sight is very good, but it. was with tl.x? greatest difficulty that I could decipher what was put on the board, and I heard very many complaints of the ssrne thing. At the top centre of the board were several letters and figures painted in black on a white ground, and these could be read with ease, bur unfortunately they do not give any information. The names of the players and the score*, etc., were painted in white on a black label, and -these were placed on the white background of the board, with the resultwell-known to opticians and others—that the two colours were so mixed and confused as to make the words, etc., practically undecipherable, except with the aid of glasses. 1 hope before the next match with the Englishmen the association will rectify this matter, by repainting the names, etc., in black on white, and by so doing earn the thanks of the crowd that- will be on the Domain ground to witness the return tr'al of strength.
One ok thk Crowd,
