GREECE AND MACEDONIA.
THREAT BY GREEK PREMIER.
MAY INTERVENE BY ARMS. By Telegrapli.-Presd Association.-Copyrisht.
Athens, December 21. M. Theotokis, Premier of Greece, says it is possible his Government will be compelled to intervene by arms in Macedonia, and the Government had informed the Powers that the situation there had become, intolerable. He considers that other Powers besides Greece should be asked to do their utmost to restrain the respective bands from committing outrages.
The trouble in Macedonia arises not so much from Turkish oppression as Turkish neglect. There is a deadly feud between the Athens and Bulgarian sections of the Greek Church, with frequent massacres, Greek bands set out to annihilate the people. of Bulgarian villages, and vice versa, and the Turkish troops interfere only after the massacre is ended.
