ANGLO-GERMAN RELATIONS.

THE SUGGESTED NEW

DEPARTURE.

COMMENTS OF THE PRESS. By Tel effraph— Association— Copyright.

London, September V. The Deutsche Revue's statement, that Britain had only two alternative policies towards Germany, one of an Anglo-French counterpoise which might easily prove disastrous, and the other of the inclusion of Germany within the circle of her friendship, is warmly resented in several leading British papers.

The Times' Berlin correspondent states that the Deutsche Revue's tentative suggestion did not receive any encouragement officially in Britain, Sir E. Grey's policy being essentially the same as Lord Lansdowns.

Paris, September 7.

The Temps says that the German velvet gloves have cracked too soon, and have failed to hide the mailed fist.
