FIRES ON WOOL SHIPS.
[BY TELEGRAPH.I'RESS ASSOCIATION'.]
CinusTcnußCir, Saturday. At the "Wool Fires Commission to-day, Alex' ander Augustus Bickerton, Government analyst, said that it was not necessary to go to the dips for the chemicals to cause fire, as these were contained in the wool itself, and would act under the proper conditions. He thought that there was little chance of sterilising wool thoroughly as the . inside might not be affected by\ the process. A bale of wool on fire in an insulated freezing chamber could, ho thought, bo frozen out, and it might be worth while to consider the question of carrying wool in insulated chambers.
