DEPUTATION TO THE PREMIER.

Wellington", Sat urday. Ax Otago deputation has been informed by the Premier that a grant, of £1500 will be made for the Dental College Building, in connection with the Otago Medical School, and that the extra £250 formerly granted towards the cost of the School of Mine- will again he put on the Estimates this year. The University College Council wishes the Government to take over its debt of £16.000, w! ich falls due at the end of the year. Sir Joseph Ward has in view a scheme by which he hopes to be able to relieve the authorities of a portion at all events of their liability, but before making it public ho wishes it discussed with his colleagues.
