The corporation has just made the first payment to Messrs. Rouse and Hurrell upon the first two of four cars which have been ordered from that firm. \ The four cars are to be single-deckers, and the first two are about half finished. Messrs. Rouse and Black have a contract to build four double-deck cars, and a start has been made upon the work. In addition .to the ab3ve-sopera-tions, the construction' of two double-deck-ers is fairly well-advanced in the corporation's own workshop at the car'shed, Newtown, under the direction of Mr. Cobham, who is also to 'build three single-deck cars later on. .
