WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL.

The usual monthly meeting of the Waikato County Council was held on Friday. There were present: Messrs. Primrose (chairman), Farrer, Ewcn, Gordon, Bailey, Mcßae, and Cowling. It was decided to strike a rate of Jd in the £ over the whole county. In compliance with a request by Ranglriri settlers that the Council would alter the bridge so as to prevent overflow, it was determined to erect another span. Mr. McDiarmid wrote that the Governor had approved of the new by-laws, and that he had taken the necessary steps to put them into force. It was resolved to send copies to each of the road boards, with a request that they adopt a'ud enforce them. It _ was decided to procure copies of all the Acts bearing on local government for the use of the Council. , The following were the riding balances at date: —Whangainariuo, £186 2s 7d; Huntly, £4 Is; Kidkiriroa, £329 10s 2d; Cambridge, £258 5s Sd; Tauwhare, £IS2 3s su.
