The final matches in the senior championship will be played to-day. Auckland A meet Auckland B, and the Collegt Rifles play United. The results will have no material effect on the cup, as Auckland A have already won, with, so far, an unbeaten record.
Tho junior matches set down for decision are College Rifles v. University, and United A v. United 15.
The ladies' match to be played at Devonport to-day between Wapiti and Moana should provide a good game', as both teams have an unbeaten record to date. College Rifles defeated Auckland' B by 6 goals to 3 last Saturday. In the first spell the play was of an even nature, but towards tho close of the second half the College boys asserted themselves and put on goals at a fast rate. In the College forward line Williamson played a fine game and shot some nice goals. For Auckland, West and P. Lepine were most prominent. Auckland juniors and United A played another drawn game. The play was of a. very even nature, neither side claiming any advantage— goal each was the score. Next Saturday an A and £ match will bo played in view of the representative matches against Taranaki and Whangarei. University, by their victory over United B, securo the junior championship for 1905. They well deserve the honour, having gone through tho season with only one defeat, sustained at the hands of the Auckland 01 ub team.
United mado a very close finish in their match with Auckland A, notwithstanding they , were playing one man short. T\io game was very interesting, although United were on the defensive for the best part of the second spell. Broadfoot (at centre) and Kavanagh (left half) were the best of the Auckland backs. The wing forwards, Lepine and .Tessup, were responsible for some good work along the line. Mason played a sound game at centre forward, _ his passing being good. Cowper (inside right) got through a lot of good tackling, and was responsible for some clever stick work.
Doyle, in goal for United, stopped some hard shots. Sherrift's, at fullback, got his sido put of difficulties 011 more than one occasion! Porter was the best of the halves, and Barry and Clark worked hard in the front rank. Hesketh (right wing) was prominent in the attack.
_ Kopanga (ladies) played St. George's (juniors) in the Domain, and after an interesting game Kopanga won by five goals to nil. The winners played with good combination. Of the forwards the Misses Haselden and Clarke were the most conspicuous, and Miss Mcintosh (captain) played a sound game as centre half. For St. George's the Misses P. Gilmore and L. Martin were the best of the forwards, and among the backs those claiming mention are the Misses Scott, Downhard, and Westbury.
