The Sultan of Turkey has imprisoned, his brother, Mehemmed-Res-had Effiendi, heir-apparent to the throne, on suspicion of having been implicated in the recent bomb outrage.

The Chief of the Secret Police, Femhi Pasha, has been executed, by order of the Sultan, for having failed to prevent the attempt on his life.

The heir-apparent is 61 years of age. In Turkey uncles and cousins succeed to the throne before sons. The Sultan has 10 children.
