Later details of .the fight between .' the natives and a German expedition sent out to suppress cannibalism in Nan Province of German New Guinea, show that the attack was made by night. Judge Stutgart and Captain Mueller, of the Government yacht Seestern, '..were wounded, but neither seriously. Five of the attacking natives were shot dead, and two native police were killed in mistake owing to the darkness.
