Two motor cars are to be obtained similar to those now in use 011 the railway lines in Great Britain, and these will he employed 011 suburban lines solely for passengers traffic. If the experiment is successful the number of cars will, of course, be increased. It is hoped by this means to give a more frequent service on such lines .as from Wellington to the I Tut t. from Auck- . land to Onehunga, from Ghristehurch to | J.yltelt.on, and from Dunedin to Port Chal- : mers. The motive power may be electrieiiy :or benzine. It has not yet been decided on 'which line the experimentwill be made. : The bodies of the new cars are to be constructed in the colony. I
