The naval authorities here have been advised that the third-class cruiser Prometheus has been ordered to replace the Pylades on the Australian station. She is expected in Sydney at the end of March. The Prometheus wan built in 1898, and is of 2135 tons, steams 20 knots, and carries .eight guns. She has been attached to the Channel fleet.
