Lv reply to a telegram sent to the Premier on Friday, expressing the hope that, even in the event of districts being gazetted, steps would not be taken against small shopholders as regards the hours of closing, Mr. George Tint, chairman of the meeting recently held by shopkeepers of the Upper Symonds-streefc and adjacent districts, has received the following from Mr. Seddoii: — "Your telegram received. .Subject matter thereof now under consideration of Ministers. Gazetting of combined districts does not alter position, and'it is Government's intention to proceed with test case."
