The Auckland Golf Club's professional, I. G. Hood, was beaten by J. T-. Hutchison (* up and 3) in the first round of the professional tournament at the Australian championship meeting. „ ,„ _ , The final 'of the Christchurch Golf Club championship will be played on Saturday next. Members of the Auckland Golf Club arc reminded of the approaching and putting competition which takes place this afternoon, commencing at. half-past one. Post entries will be- received up to the conclusion t>f the competition, which will be held on the 16th green. No competitor is to approach on to or to putt on that green before taking part in the competition. Manawatu won the teams by jour holes, A. Strang and D. Barman beattog Harold and Pearce, 2 up.
