MEETING of ..those interested M the, formation of a bowling club, in Te Awamutu; was held on Wednesday evening. Mr. Von Sturm who was voted .to. the chair, stated that Mr. P. Edgecumbe had kindly offered the use of his grounds until the club was able to secure some other property. It was decided to form a club to be called the Te Awamutu Bowling Club, and the following. officers Were elected: —President, Mr. Hugh Irvine; vice-presidents, Messrs. Win. Taylor and W. W. Von Stunner; committee, Messrs. G. Ahier, P. Mewburn, G. Gifford, and H. Y. Collins: secretary and treasurer, Mr. Von Stunner; green superintendent, Mr, Edgecumbe,. .. Mr. Edgecumbe was elected an honorary member. .On 5 Tuesday. afternoon, at. St. John's Church, the Anglican Bishop of. Auckland (Dr. Neligan) administered the rite of confirmation to Vi candidates- A missionary meeting was held in the evening, when addresses oh > the Maori, work wore delivered by the Rev. Hawkins.and the Bishop. • • . •--.••■', ,?. . Matters in connection with the building of the new parsonage, are now well in hand, and tenders will be called almost immediately. The house is to contain eight rooms, and is estimated .to cost £450 without extras. , .The plans have been submitted to the Bishop, who was very pleased with them. MAUKD. OITB, creamery .is now in full swing,, again. There are 35 suppliers; most of them have laid themselves out to make a good start by preparing feed for the cows. We have already had some nice mild weather, and the grass has made a start and paddocks are freshening up. The winter,;haß been a.fairly good one, taking everything into consideration. Fruit trees are now a grand sight, as they are a mass of bloom, and should crop well if nothing, unforeseen happens., ~,. Farmers have taken every advantage of the fine weather to get their crops in the ground, and some have got a good start.
