* MAGISTRATE'S COURT. Mr. C. O. Joseph Turnbull (Wellington), £* 7s 2d; Alfred James' Davidson v. William Noddef, £4; Piatt and Hill v. Frank Gallagher, £1 ss; Catherine E. Broomhall v. Frederick Sims, £3 12s; Elizabeth. Fitzgerald v. Ernest L... Smith (Tauranga), £15 4s od. Decision Reserved: After hearing evidence in the case of John, S. Montgomery v. E. A. White and Sons, the magistrate reserved his decision. The case for the plaintiff, represented by Mr. Reed, was that he bought a Jersey cow from the defendant in April last with a guarantee which.had proved valueless. He bought it for £13 13s. The defence was that the plaintiff was never given tho guarantee, but was told that it was probable the cow would. calve. Mr. Brookfieid appeared for the defendants. Adjourned: Agnes McKerrow, represented by Mr. J. Alexander, claimed £2 for services rendered from. Joseph Powell. On the defendant stating that the plaintiff was engaged by his wife, a bbardinghouse-keeper, who would have paid had she been asked, the case was adjourned for one week. Judgment for Amount Paid into Court: Albert Edward Glorio made a claim for £2 2s 6*3 against P. Jacobin. ~ Two pounds had been paid into Court, and the extra 2s 6d concerning, eight , cases* of bananas was contested. After hearing evidence Mr. Kettle gave judgment for the amount paid into Court. Claim for Rent: R. J. Moyle, sued by John Henry Hannan for 7s 6d rent, consented to judgment with costs. Moyle, before consenting, explained that he had left the house without giving a week s notice.
