[rUOlf OUR own CORRESPONDENT.] Nukualofa, September 10. Owing to the splendid weather which has prevailed during the past month the roads throughout the island are now in first-class condition, and the people have therefore been able to bring forward a very large quantity of fruit for to-day's steamer. The very fair prices realised foi the bananas last month gave much satisfaction, and gave growers fresh encouragement to ship. The price of copra is still inclined to rise, although at present it stands at a very satisfactory figure, some parcels during the month having changed hands at £12 10s per ton, whilst in Fiji £13 10s has been given. The non-arrival of Vice-Admiral Fanshawe in the Enryalus on August 15 was a great disappointment. The Tongan Government went to tho trouble tr construct the framework ox wooden arches, which were to have been erected— covered with myrtle and othei shrubsat the entrance to the palace grounds, and at the foot of the wharf. The marriage of Mr. R. C. E. Hahn (manager of the Nukualofa agency of the German firm) and Miss Charlotte Dorothea Riechelmann, -laughter of Mr. A. Riechelmann, was solemnised in the King's Church on the Ist bast, by the Rev. J. B. Watkin, King's chaplain. The two bridesmaids were the Misses Lillie Riechelmann and Alice Cocker. Mr. J. L. Yaruton (managei for Messrs. Burns, Philp, and Co.) acted as best man. In the evening % most enjoyable dance and suppei was given by the bride'i parents.
