The Queensland Government had concurred in the proposal, and the New Zealand Government had been so informed in. February. Nothing further had since been done. The Federal Govern, ment had no intention of abolishing or altering the subsidy or doing away with any other contract. [The Premier of Queensland stated on Monday that he was negotiating with the Government of New Zealand for the transfer of the Vancouver mail service to thin ; colony.]
