AUCKLAND SWIMMING CLUB.

The annual meeting of members of the Auckland Swimming Club was held at the rooms of the Amateur Sports Club last evening; Mr S. E. Hughes, president, in the chair. There was a large attendance of members.

The report of the committee congratulated the members on a successful year, during which a carnival was held in the Graving Dock and a gala in the Albert-street Baths, both of which were well patronised by the public. Two club nights were aiso held in the baths. The members entered freely for the races, and the competition in the events was spirited, the finishes generally being excellent. In conclusion, the report urged the members to further efforts to make Uie incoming season even more successful than the preceding one. The balance-sheet showed receipts to be £85 Is 7d, and alter distributing a liberal list of prizes for competition and wiping off an old aehit balance of £2 15s lCd this? left a credit balance of £5 5s led. Both report and accounts were adopted after the chairman had referred to the satisfactory position of the club.

The election of officers for the ensuing year was then proceeded with, and restated as under:—Grand patrons. His Excellency the Governor (Lord Ranfurly) and the admiral commanding the Australian Squadron: patron, Sir John Logan Campbell; vicepatrons. a.a last year, with the addition of the lions. E. Mitchelson (Mayor). S. T. George, M.L.C., and Will. Beehau, M.L.C.; president, Mr. S. E. Hughes; vice-presidents, as last year, with the addition of Messrs. Wea-stbury, R. K. Lendrum, G. A. Tyler. F. A. Hedges, W. Moore, and IV. E. Cossar; auditor. Mr. 11. G. Ohevis; joint, hen. secretaries, Messrs. V. If. Hughes and W.Kay; hon. treasurer. Mi". ]{. Dacre; assistant treasurer, Mr. ,T. Armitaae, jun ; committee of management, Messrs. P. A. Hedges, W. E. Dervan, W. Moore, A. Bonella, G. Katterna, J. W. Russell, W. E. Cossar, E. Burke, and Ensdown. The following new members were elected: —Messrs. 11. Hodgson. A. Fleming, ,T. Moir, S. Withy. J. W. Henderson. C. Fox. E. Henderson, 0. Grant, H. Dea-rsley, W. 11. Churton (adult members), W. Foster, P. Foster, and J. Hodgson (boys under 16 years).
