THE SERVIAN REVOLUTION.
KING PETER'S ELECTION.
ENTHUSIASM IN MONTENEGRO. ATTITUDE OF THE ARMY. THANKSGIVING SERVICE IN BELGRADE. By Telegraph.—l'ress Association.— Copyright. Belgrade, June 17. Prince Peters election as King of Servia- has evoked great enthusiasm in Montenegro. The Republican, minority in the Skuptschina was silenced by the argument that Russia and Austria would not tolerate a republic. The army everywhere controls civilians and officials, and the peasantry are overawed and listless. There are indications that- the army is seeking to perpetuate its dictatorship and make King Peter a nonentity. It is generally believed that the King will grant an amnesty to the assassins, fearing trouble. Yesterday the Ministers, members of the Skuptschina and officers attended a thanksgiving Te Deum-in the Cathedral. The Metropolitan congratulated the nation on the restored dynasty. He deplored the necessity for the recent events, but thanked the army and eulogised its action and invoked the Divine blessing on King Peter. The Skuptschina has granted immunity to the conspirators, King Peter acquiescing. The Metropolitan of Servia refused permission for a Requiem Mass for the late King Alexander and Queen Draga. The military party threatened to murder the editor of the Ojk if he advocated a republic. On his adjuring republicanism he was created Minister for Justice.
