DINNER PARTY AND RECEPTION AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE.
His Excellency the Govebnor and the Countess of Ranfurly gave a dinner party at Government House last evening to meet the Anglican Bishop of Auckland and Mrs. Neligan. The following received invitations:—

The dinimr hall and reception-rooms were beautifully decorated, and the affair passed off with eclat. Early's band discoursed musical selections during the dinner, and also at the subsequent recentinn in the ballroom. There were between 200 and 250 guests. The recaption lasted from half-past nine until half-past eleven.
